Murphy PC Advises Borrower in Refinancing of Lifestyle Shopping Center North of Boston

December 18, 2025-Murphy PC represented a borrower limited liability company in connection with the refinancing of a lifestyle center located North of Boston, Massachusetts.

The borrower is an affiliate of a property owner and development company with substantial shopping plaza holdings in Massachusetts and California. The company specializes in community-oriented retail centers anchored by essential service tenants. Its portfolio includes multiple lifestyle centers and neighborhood shopping plazas.

The shopping plaza features a diverse mix of tenants serving the local community, including a bank, market, barber shop, liquor store, grill, body shop, fitness center, yoga studio, dance studio, and town offices.

The transaction involved negotiating comprehensive loan documentation with a regional lender, as well as coordinating subordination, non-disturbance and attornment agreements and estoppel certificates with major tenants to satisfy lender requirements. Murphy PC also served as title counsel, issuing a lender’s title insurance policy and related endorsements.
