Our attorneys have substantial experience representing educational institutions and nonprofits in real estate matters, including acquisitions, sales and financing, tax exemption status, easements, land use, construction, leasing and joint ventures with for profit developers.  We counsel our clients on general real estate issues and specific nonprofit issues such as unrelated business income and governance matters.

Represented a college in lease negotiations for shared dormitories, classroom space and athletic facilities, with an international English language institute, to other local colleges and universities and to private clubs for use of its athletic facilities in Brookline, Massachusetts.

Represented a college in a construction financing for a new student dormitory in Brookline, Massachusetts.

Represented a charter school in its dissolution and sale of its building and assets to another charter school in the Dorchester area of Boston, Massachusetts.

Represented a private school in the purchase of an apartment building to expand its facilities in the Back Bay area of Boston, Massachusetts.

Represented an early child education franchisee in the purchase, construction and development of a franchise in Southern, Massachusetts.

Represented an early child education franchisee in lease negotiations for a franchise in Charlestown area of Boston, Massachusetts.

Represented a religious organization in the purchase of an apartment building for use as a rectory in the Beacon Hill area of Boston.
