Shopping Centers

Overview

A well-structured shopping center starts with well-structured leases.

We represent shopping center owners in acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and leasing. Our leasing practice includes drafting and negotiating retail leases and advising on key provisions, including permitted use, rent abatement and termination rights, force majeure, assignment and subletting, default and remedies, operating expense obligations, maintenance and repair responsibilities, access, and indemnity. We counsel owners on tenant mix strategy, lease-up sequencing, and anchor tenant negotiations.
