Education and Nonprofits

Overview

Institutions that serve communities deserve counsel that understands both the mission and the transaction.

We represent educational institutions and nonprofit organizations in real estate matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, construction, leasing, land use, easements, and joint ventures with for-profit developers.

We also advise on issues specific to tax-exempt entities, including tax exemption status, unrelated business income, and governance. We understand the regulatory and organizational requirements unique to nonprofits and educational institutions, including board approval processes, donor restrictions, and public funding considerations.
