Overview

The right financing structure makes the project possible.

We represent developers, owners, and investors in commercial real estate financing transactions, including construction loans, permanent loans, refinances, and mezzanine financing with regional and national lenders and private lending companies. Our work includes the collection and review of due diligence materials and counsel on zoning, permitting, environmental, title, and corporate governance matters.

We prepare enforceability and zoning opinions in connection with loan transactions and negotiate each financing to align with our client’s broader transaction objectives. Our experience includes conventional bank financing, government-sponsored enterprise loans, HUD/FHA programs, bond financing, and transactions involving historic and affordable housing tax credits.

  • Represented owner in construction financing of a 70-unit apartment building in Brighton, Massachusetts
  • Represented an educational institution in construction financing for a new student dormitory in Brookline, Massachusetts
  • Represented early childhood education franchisee in construction financing for a franchise in southeastern Massachusetts
  • Represented owners in multiple construction loans for condominium projects throughout Greater Boston, Massachusetts

 

Permanent Financing & Refinance

  • Represented owner in the refinance of an office building leased to Fisher & Phillips, UNUM, and Key Bank in Portland, Maine
  • Represented owner in the financing of a shopping center leased to Petco, Kohl’s, Carter’s, Doctor Dental, Title Boxing, and Work-N-Gear in Saugus, Massachusetts
  • Represented owner in the financing and leasing of a shopping center leased to Dollar Tree, China Pearl, Dunkin Donuts, Domino’s Pizza, and Kam Man Marketplace in Quincy, Massachusetts
  • Represented owner in the refinance of a property consisting of a compound with several homes in Nantucket, Massachusetts
